Starting now, you can begin a brand new journey toward a more positive path for yourself – one that’s filled with growth, well being, acceptance, and empowerment.
Clark Caswell, BA, CADC II, has over two decades of experience working in the addiction field. Clark has run his practice for nearly a decade and enjoys working in a private setting, allowing clients to change in their own time and for Clark to be more present while working with his clients.
His professional experience includes treating clients in residential, outpatient and individual settings. His career began at Hazelden Springbrook residential treatment center as a case manager and supervisor of the treatment team. In 2006 he left to join a group of colleagues in the development of Beyond Addictions outpatient treatment facility. He implemented clinical services for the treatment associated with in-home alcohol detoxification and other substance abuse treatment.
Clark worked closely in the past with a variety of professional monitoring agencies, including Oregon Health Professionals Program, Pharmacist Recovery Network, Oregon Attorney Assistance Program, and Washington Physicians Health Program.
Clark is well versed in cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance-commitment therapy, motivational interviewing and 12-step recovery. He is easy to speak with and genuine, if not a bit rogue, in his approach to change. He often speaks of being more of a “Sherpa” than a traditional therapist. When you meet Clark, his focus will be on what “you” want to change, and on providing you with a variety of options on how to proceed. His recommendations are custom tailored to your needs, allowing you the freedom of choice along on your journey to wellness. Clark will respectfully challenge you at times, understanding there is no change without some struggle. There will be times of laughter as well, after all, life is also about levity. Clark brings a balance of both to his profession.
Clark is interested in teaching you sustainable skills to improve your life and to overcome current or future stressors in your life.
On a personal level, Clark enjoys the outdoors (skiing, snowboarding, boating, and hiking) travel, music and spending time with family and friends.
